Twelve years after making the last century by a Lostock player on our old ground on Lostock Lane (when he made 127 for the 1stXI against Astley & Tyldesley in the old Bolton Association), Danny Cockton became the first player to notch up a century on the new ground in the course of making 121 against Little Lever for the 2ndXI in August. In doing so, he also hit the first tons for the 2ndXI since Peter Syddall and Craig Rashleigh both did so in 2006 at Sale Moor.
Batting first Danny and Ryan opened up with a stand of well over 100 before Ryan eventually fell for 36. Somehow we managed to waste this fantastic base as only Steve Kaye of the other batsmen reached double figures as we eventually reached 200-8 in our 45 overs. The bowlers then made sure that Dan's efforts weren't wasted as they shot Little Lever out for just 69 in reply with Daz taking 6/29 and Will 3/14 to secure a comfortable win.
